Windows 7 Professional Recovery on a HP

I’m not sure how much info is needed on my computer but here is some of it, if more is needed I will try to find it

Sorry this is so long, yet not knowing a whole lot I’m trying to lay it out as best I can

I had to use my recovery disc to redo my computer. Before recovery it asked me about backup, & I did on a disc.

After the recovery & getting my computer back up & running once again I placed the backup disc in & I got it to download to a folder on my desktop.

The folder they in its listed as a D-OS

I thought this might be simple but found out it isn’t, I read on some HP forums of several others who have the same problems & it seems most get answers but few if any have any success.

I did download Pea Zip & 7-Zip that they spoke of on the HP forums but they seemed to do nothing, or maybe my know how was not up to snuff.

I have recovered most of my pictures I had on my OS hard drive, which I had most of them on a backup hard drive.

Do I need to be a geek, & or have a friend that’s a Geek, or take it to a shop to recover some of the files on the backup disc? Believe I’ll get a larger backup hard drive, them store everything on it.

This all happened Tuesday and my computer its running just fine, good as new I would say.
