windows 7 RC e-mail

    I have had 7 RC now for 11 days and still have not managed to configure my ISP E-mail address ?

    I f i click windows mail it takes me to windows mail live (hotmail and so on) but i don't want that.
    What i want is that the E-mail button on my keyboard will take me directly to my ISP e-mail address just the way it does in Vista?

    Hi Bill

    Win7 doesnt come with Email anymore, a by product of all the anticompetitive issues etc, to setup email you either need Windows Live Mail (I use and like TBH, has good newsgroup option) or Outlook 2007 or Mozilla Lightening (adds email and calendar, I find better options than just thunderbird)

    So need to install an email app and configure to the button

    Thanks David that will save me banging my head on the wall trying to get it to work.

    I still have it on my Vista machine.

    Hi Bill

    Cannot have you banging head against wall at weekend Bill, yes Windows Mail was core app in Vista, but as its development stopped aroudn SP1 time, Windows Live Mail being the most developed one and the Live apps became focus and was added as only a link in Win7 to give users options (similar to add/remove > Windows Components allows you to remove IE etc) Win7 is about choices and so far I honestly believe its achieving this.

    as you have Office 2007 IIRC, Outlook is a great option for email, and you can if you have Gmail account add that to outlook as well as ISPs email.
