Ok, I have a pc with windows 7 on it. I made a restore disk..
The question that I have is:
if I had a hard drive failure and replaced it wih a new drive, would the restore disk work with the new hard drive.
The reson that I ask is I do not have the disk for the O.S.
    I hope this makes sence....:confused

    As always,
    Thanks

That will depend on the manufacturer of the PC and the type of restore disk - some are full OEM install disks, others not. There are also OEM's who have used a "tattoo" system on the original hard drive, this can make it very difficult.

It is a Gateway ( from Best Buy) and I am making the restore disk off of Windows 7.
    Hope this helps
    Any thoughts??
    Thanks

I don't see anything definitive after a brief search online; I think it'll work ok but check with Gateway Support - you can chat online with them, or input your S/N here and do a search?
