Windows 7 Thumbnail preview keeps Crashing

Hi everyone,

First of all, I did a search on here and google and everything I tried hasn't fixed my issue.

I'm using a Toshiba Notebook (Satellite L505D) with Windows 7 Home Premim (Service Pack 1), AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mbile 2.20 GHz. 3 GB Ram, 32 bit procesor.

I never had any issues with my thumbnails before and they still work but these days they are crashing quite often. I'm sure the root of my problem is that I started adding a bunch of videos such as .avi, .mp4, .wmv, .divx etc to one folder. Once I got to around 100 or so I noticed the thumbnails would simply gray out, I wouldn't even see the icon anymore. If i restarted my computer, they would work again, but once I would do into the folder with all the video's in it, they would work for a bit and within 2 or 3 minutes they would crash again. The only way of getting the thumbnails to work again would be another restart.

It's very frustrating because I downloaded a lot of videos but also do video editing for my work. So having the thumbnails constantly crash is extremely time consuming and infuriating.

Note:
I tried a system restore, I defragmented my drive, checked for viruses and spyware (ran spybot, superantispyware, hijackthis, and wanted to use comboxfix but didn't since I was sure if it'll properly work with windows 7.) All the scans found nothing except the odd tracking cookie.

I also went into System and in the advanced section made sure the options were set properly to view thumbnails.

Everything I tried didn't work.

Is there anything else I can do? If not, I guess my only option might be to group the videos I have into 10 clips and create a folder for them, and hopefully that would stop them from crashing.
