Windows 7 too small.....(Firefox)

Holly cow this is driving me nuts. I just got my new laptop and when I installed Windows 7(64) all my icons and text is too small. I went to Screen Resolution and set it to 150%, but Firefox was non responsive to this. I went to Firefox support forum and tried their (NoSquint) download and it sucks. I can magnify some stuff, but the scale is off. I am staring at my other laptops MajorGeek front page and I see different sizing---> more detailed explanation below....

If you click on any program download from the website and look at the left bar(program subjects), I can get that to be the same size as my previous laptop, but then the explanation of the program will look too small, so if I increase it even more, the left side is over size.


Anyone got any nifty programs that are designed to fix this.

 

If the problem is just in firefox now. Try holding down the <ctrl> key and hitting + and - for larger/smaller.

 

Sorry, but that doesn't work with my scaling issue. From the start the scaling of the icons and text is off, so making it bigger like that makes many things over sized. Like right now I am zoomed in and can see the text I type real well, but others things on the browser such as the words "Miscellaneous Options" below me are ridiculously small.

I would be really appreciative for anyone who can help me figure this out.

 

Actually guys I should have guessed it.....It's the 64bit, Firefox does not have 64bit yet and many pages just show up morphed. Gonna be using IE for a little while now, hopefully I don't get any viruses with it.

 

Ahh, I didn't realize there was no X64 firefox. I am on X86 but have you tried starting firefox in comparability mode, say for XP SP3?

A little googling got me this: http://wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com/Firefox:Download or right from their ftp: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/ there is a link on the first link to plugins for the X64. Try these and see if it fixes your problem.
