I've been having this slight problem that has been bugging me lately.

Every now and then when I want to open a file/folder or right-click on a file/folder, I'll receive this error that states "Windows explorer has stopped working..." which then results into "Windows explorer is restarting".

I read a fix about it on someone else's thread, but it had to deal with Vista, not Windows 7. Funny thing is... This never happened back on my previous OS, Vista Ultimate x32.

I want to hear from someone that has had this problem with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 or of any other x64 edition. I'm starting to begin to think this might be a x64 problem instead.

Before you think this might be a malware/virus problem, I've already done the ToughGeeks malware/virus removal thing with all the provided software so no... It is NOT a malware/virus giving me this problem.

If specs are needed, I can provide a dxdiag.txt report.

    Hi,
My new PC is running Vista 64 bit and I am having the same problem. In my case it is always caused by Adobe Flash 10. Apparently this is quite common with the 64 bit systems. I wish Adobe would get cracking and fix it!

Hasn't happened to me, my on WIN 7 Ultimate (retail). But, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

My wife and I purchased new PC's back in August 2009.. Both came with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit Operating Systems.

    Wife's PC: Gateway SX2800
    My PC: HP p6110y

About a month ago, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit on my PC...... So far I have not noticed this issue at all on my PC.... neither with Vista or Windows 7.

Just a few days ago I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit on my wife's PC and she is having the exact same issues. However she had been having these issues for a couple months now.

And by the way, we both have Adobe Flash 10 installed.

I have opened and run the Administrator's Command Prompt and run the 'sfc /scannow' system scan..... But after the scan was finished, it found no corrupted files.

But anyway...... I am not trying to high-jack anyone's thread......... I am just trying to offer what I can about the issue. Who knows maybe some day we can all get this issue resolved.

    Hopefully this will help somewhat.

    Thanks,

    BMuLL
