    Hi,

I've brought Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit in the download version. It was on the student offer if it makes a difference. I'm using Windows XP Home at the moment. The problem is, I've used the download manager to download the three files, setup1.box, setup2.box and Win7-P-Retail-en-us-x64.exe which is fine. When running Win7-P-Retail-en-us-x64.exe though, right at the end of extracting files into a folder it gives the following error:

One of the things it mentions is to make sure the folder isn't read-only. When the folder is created by the .exe though, it's created as a read-only folder and any attempts to remove the read only attribute have no effect, it just says it does but on checking it's still read only.

Does anyone know how I can actually get past this, so I can continue setting up Windows 7?

Thanks. I'd looked all over, but until now, I'd not found anything about the problem at all. It built an ISO and it seems to work so far, though I've not gotten as far as trying to install yet.
