Inspiron One system running Windows 7 takes >25 minutes from power on to gain control of the desktop. It takes 10 minutes from power on to get the logon screen and when you enter the password it can take another 22 minutes to get the desktop.

I have removed all the unnecessary software from the machine. I have run Malware Bytes scans (clean). I have removed most everything from HKLM (run) and HKCU (run). I have run CC Cleaner with no help. I do not have any ? in Device manager. I have turned on the BOOT LOG but it doesn't reveal anything obvious. The hard drive light stays almost solid on from power up until the system becomes available.

    Any help?

After the system comes up, it responds rather normally. Speed is fine and no excessive disk access.

Booting up the machine into safe mode takes > 12 minutes. Not as bad as 25 minutes but not good. It appears whatever is effecting the machine in normal mode is also effecting it in safe mode.

I reformatted the drive and reinstalled Windows 7. Either a corrupted file or marginal bad spot on disk I suppose.

I was going to suggest at looking at your startup programs to see if that was slowing the boot up process. But glad that you got it sorted. :)
