Windows 8.1 updates issue

I brought this new pc with windows 8.1 and IE 11 a little over a month ago and have had trouble from the get go.

When I first logged onto the internet I could not access banking sites or social media sites.

Dell tried everything under the sun and still couldn't get me access to those sites. They finally had me do a factory reset.

It hangs up on shutting down all the time and certain applications make it freeze up.

Now I am finding that this computer has not installed any updates. They download but they all say failure to install.

Any ideas what to do? Im about ready to take this 'pos' back to where I bought it from.

 

Take it back and get a replacement NOT a repair. Quote your dealings with Dell to ilustrate your problem.
