When I was using windows7, it would recognize when i connected my phone, and automatically open Picasa to retrieve photos. No more. Itunes opens automatically, but nothing more. I cant even see the phone using the file explorer. The file explorer shows my external hard drive and any Flash drive that is connected, but not the phone. Any help? BTW the phone and Kindle cords are connected via a USB 4 port hub.

First, lose the hub and connect the phone directly to the computer to see if this makes a difference.

when asking for help, tell us about your computer. (more than just saying it runs 8,1).

    What model is the iPhone?

Open Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, and look if the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed. Then visit Apple at the following link.

Is the hub powered? I ask because Dell doesn't offer the best power supplies and with so many devices connected, you might not have enough power to support: mouse, keyboard, camera, External backup, speakers. 2 phones and Kindle.

Apple software not right?? Deleted the Mobile device support, re-installed and working fine now. Thanks. As to the non powered hub, I do notice that If I run keyboard, mouse etc through the hub, they stop working. Obviously lack of power. thanks.
