Windows 8 Calendar editing events

    My Windows 8 calendar is showing birthdays of friends via the Hotmail Calendar. Unfortunately some of these friends are now deceased and I wish to remove them from the Calendar. These birthdays are also synced onto my Nokia Windows phone. How do I do this please.
