windows 8 mai app

:confused I just got a new HP laptop with win8. I am trying unsuccessfully to set up all my aol email accounts in the Mail app. I tried to sign up for a Microsoft account with my aol email and password but its getting me nowhere. So I tried setting up a new Microsoft account as (eg) xxxxxxx@outlook.com with a new password. When I click on Sign up for a Microsoft account it takes me to the website: signup.live.com/signup.aspx?mkt=en-us and then an error msg displays: "certificate error navigation. there is a problem with this website security certificate". This is driving me nuts trying to figure out how to set up my aol email accounts on windows 8 mail app. Can someone please help me with this very frustrating problem? I'd much rather not sign up for a MS account if there is any way to avoid this and thus set up my aol email accounts directly into the Mail app.
