My laptop has crashed (viruses apparently) but I cannot seem to get it to do an automatic repair....I cannot refresh or reset it because I do not have an installation media disk for Windows 8.....what can I do?

Your laptop should have a factory installed recovery partition that you can access from BIOS, if you can't get it cleaned up as instructed above. Go to the manufacturer's website for instructions.

Do you have a windows install disc?
if yes, insert the windows install disc
    Perform a repair installation
(Run the setup, click 'repair install' mode when the wizard pop up for choice)

The OP stated in his original post that he did not have an install disc.

OASISIMPRESSIONS, please give the brand and exact model of laptop so we can see the hardware and find the manual. We might be able to give you other options.

A little late now, but had you been booting, you could have created an image to refresh with.
