Windows 8

Hey Geeks,
I have a massive problem. I have windows 8 on my Gateway laptop, and i have done something to it, i could be missing a windows file as i am on a blue screen. When i start my laptop it goes straight, to preparing automatic fix, and from there nothing works to fix it. It won't re fresh it'self and we can't restart/Restore on a system restore point. We have downloaded windows 8 on a USB and burnt it on a disk but laptop will not load them why????

Anyone with any suggestion, would be appreciated.

It's saying windows is missing this file,

C:/windows/System 32/logFiles/Srt/srftroul.txt

Any suggestions and how i get this file back or download it from somewhere, before i have to buy a new laptop. Or Getting it fixed my a professional help??

can you attach the srftroul file at all so we can look a the log text?
That file is a log and not something missing on your PC, it will list what the error is likely to be that prevents your PC from starting, did you install anything new before the issue happened or were you checking for malware at all before this happened?

The downloaded Win8 you have is it an ISO format? as you will need to convert it to general format and this tool is good for this HERE (says its for Win7 but works fine for Win8)

The you need to enter your PCs BIOS and the keys to enable you to enter the BIOS will flash up on screen on boot, press then likely DEL key and then set 1st boot device to USB and reboot with the Win 8 USB version and run advanced troubleshooting.

If you can get the Win8 USB to boot then try the steps HERE NOTE: you may loose any saved data like documents, pictures etc sadly.
