Windows 98 or ME

    I am going to reinstall Windows 98. I am currently running ME and I just have too many problems with it. Is Windows 98 really a better OS than ME? Its been so long since I used 98 I can't remember. I guess I just want to make sure I am making the right choice by running 98 over ME.

    Neither of them being a particularly good OS, provided thats 98se, I would go with it.

    If your not or cannot run XP, which I have found in the years I have been using it to be very stable ( as Shadow Computer Dude also states once you have tweaked the settings services abit ) and has to be the best OS MS have produced to date.

    then your next best is Win98SE :)

    It is Windows SE. I just tried to load it and received a message that said I must remove the operating system currently installed because I am trying to intall an older version of windows. How do I unistall ME?

    Format it.

    Boot to DOS, from CD or floppy and type format c:

    You will lose any data on the system.
