windows 98 shares

Hi i have a problem creating a shared folder on windows 98, not at a lot of experience with windows 98 so any help is appreciated. Basically there is no 'share' option when i right clicked the folder so i first installed file and printer sharing in 'network' and made sure both boxes were ticked then restarted, still no change. Then i thought maybe since i was logging into the domain with a normal account i could try the domain administrator account, no change. Also tried just logging into the local machine instead of the domain and STILL no change, still wasnt an option to 'share when right clicking any folder and properties only had a general tab. Anyone have an idea of what else i could check? the microsoft pages dont specifiy anything i havent already done or tried

 

yea i had to add the service and then check the box since it wasnt installed..im not at the computer anymore so i'll have to install it on a nearby computer and test what you said

 

well i have windows 98 with a shared folder on this machine...dont understand why its not set up on this other machine though. Any other settings that could be checked or stuff to install in Network? its worked on this 1 cause its a fresh installation so im thinking somethings been changed/not installed/removed on this other 1

 

anyone? i really need to share this folder and cant reinstall windows on this machine
