Windows / 98 USB SDcard reader

I need a driver so i can use my ( generic no name ) USB SD cardreader on a windows 98 system....a did some googling and found nothing....the problem is i need the drivers installed so i can transfer the drivers to the win 98 system so that i can use the card reader ..... So i need the drivers to be smaller then 1.44MB so i can fit them on a floppy that is if i can find a good floppy ....

 

Windows 98 has no generic USB subsystem; only WinME and Win2k+ have that. You must get drivers from the device manufacturer. You should have gotten a CD in the box from the manufacturer with Win98 drivers if they chose to support it. Otherwise, it's probably not supported on Win98.

 

its a genaric card reader all it sais is "Card Reader" ....thare is CR-V7-UD on the back in fine print i googled it and dident find any thing oh well...gess im gannna be getting some more blank CDs .....

 

I read your post and I used before a card reader-writer no name-no make, but this one comes with the drivers CD for WIN98SE, I explored that CD and I found an ALi Card Reader and ICSI Card Reader; additionally PCI and USB card I do not know if I can upload that to the forum and/or if could be of some use for you.
