short and sweet -- I have windows 98. What are the advantages/disadvantages of upgrading to windows 98 SE? Or should I leave everything as it is because I like windows 98?

SE is a lot more stable and less buggy.

and I'm pretty sure it's about the same... but ask someone else on that one.

I I remember correctly, Windows 98SE had around 500 bug fixed from Windows 98, (which you've already fixed if you keep up with Windows Update) plus a little better support for USB (?), and not much else. It's a minor revision, not a whole new operating system. To upgrade to 2000 or XP would be a real step up, but if it's working OK for you, I wouldn't step up just to 98SE.

98 SE had IE 5.0 by default, lots of bug fixes, and better USB support among a few things.

IMO 98 se was the best of the non NT based microsoft os's. Didn't have the bloat and bugs of ME.

Also I don't know of any wireless networking cards that support just Windows 98, all I have seen require 98se for some odd reason.

Not all programs run on 98. Some need 98 SE. Do you get the upgrade from Microsoft?
