I am having a problem with the Windows 10 app Photos. When I double click on an image stored in my PC I get an error message (cf. attached). If I open the app Photos I simply get a black screen and then after a few seconds the app closes itself. I have tried to resolve the issue by finding Photos in Apps & features and clicked on Advanced Options and did the only thing available, which was to Reset it. I am still having the problem and would like advice on how to resolve it. Thanks!

Wait for others to reply because I am not sure this is the best answer.
You also might need to first back up picture files that you have before you follow my instructions below.

You can uninstall it and then reinstall
to uninstall, press the windows key, type powershell, before powershell opens, right click on it and then choose "run as administrator."
put this on the command line
    Get-AppxPackage *photos* | Remove-AppxPackage
    press enter
    type exit, press enter

to reinstall, press the windows key, type store, type photo
You should see an app Windows Photo or Microsoft Photo. Install it.
