Welcome to Major Geeks. We need more info to help you. What is the exact message?
Do you mean C:\Program Files? Bazza

    the full message is:

windows cannot find 'C:/Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

This comes up everytime I start up my computer.

    What happens after this message?
Somewhere there is a typo because it is C:\ rather than C:/ so of course it can't find anything with the wrong type slash.

I did not mean to imply that you mistyped it, I'm saying something is being searched for in a section that doesn't exist because there is no C:/ on a computer.
What you need to do is look to see what is marked to start at startup. Something is marked and it doesn't exist, that's why you get the error.

If you haven't already solved your problem, you might try Starter v5.6.2.8 from http://codestuff.tripod.com/products_starter.html

I use it when reviewing Startup programs and to delete those I no longer require to start when I boot up.
Click on the 3 tabs, Startups, Processes and Services. Hopefully one of them will show your C:/ and you should be able to delete it. Let us know how you go. Bazza
