I installed Nero and it's Cover Designer. The Cover Designer files have an extension of .ncd. When I open the Cover Designer Program, and go to file/open, I can open my created files. However, when I navigate to the folder on my desktop that has all the Nero Cover Designer files I have created, and double click on a file, it should open Nero Cover Designer and the appropriate file I clicked on. However, error says "Unable to locate so and so file, please make sure you entered the file name correctly." Again, this same file can be opened through the Cover Designer program. I have also found that if Nero Cover Designer is open, when I click on the file, this does not happen. Clicking on the file should open the program when it is not open as it did on my old machine? Please help. Thanks.

on 2nd look, clicking on the file is opening Cover Designer, but giving the error message mentioned in previous post. Once open, the file can be opened. What should happen is Cover Designer opens with appropriate file on first click. Any help appreciated.

    Try reinstalling or repairing Nero.

You need to re-install as Insomniac said above or try right clicking the .ncd and choosing Open With, then pick Cover Designer from the list and tick the Always Use box at the bottom. ( if not in the list you will have to Browse for it, in its installed location ) this may well put the default opening app and path back.

Nero Cover Designer is selected as the open with program, and 'always open with'. The first .ncd I click on with Nero Cover Designer closed brings Nero Cov. Des. up with the error message "unable to locate filename.ncd". Going forward, it opens clicked files now that N.C.D. is open.

Un-install and re-install Nero as it seems some file associations are not right.

BTW which Nero version are we talking about here, I use Nero6 and cannot replicate your error.

Nero 6 is on the CD I loaded onto the computer. When I went to Nero.com and installed the updates to 6.61, the problem went away. Thanks to all, deleting and reinstalling seems to have made it less buggy as well.
