My Windows clock is slow by about 3 minutes per day. Is there any reason why the clock would be slow, and if there is nothing I can do about it is it possible to set it to automatically update every day instead of every week.?

    Change your motherboard battery.

That doesn't always work! My cloack was behind by three hours for the longest time and i bought a new battery. and there was still no change. even after i adjusted it in the bios. but i finally got fed up and formatted and after buying the new battery and formatting finaly my clock is right!

So if it's a big deal to you i would suggest buying a new battery( there like 2$ at local computer stores!) and then format. It worked for me :)

    You have to be joking!

Where did I say it was guaranteed to work?

It's more than likely the battery, and I doubt it's anything else.

Your advice to change it and then format has left me speechless!

Why format? Just because you had to, does that mean every person who changes their motherboard battery has to format as well?

Well, I'm getting a new motherboard within a month so I guess it's not a big deal. But is there a way to make it update every day? Or is it stuck at every week.

You will have to run this manually, as often as you want, but it only takes a few seconds. Easiest program I have ever used. I run it a couple of times a week but my clock only loses seconds a day. Just like to keep it synchronised.

You can run the built in XP one manually as well.

I don't know why Micro$$oft never included a simple way of changing the frequency, but it's set at once a week.

I have seen a registry hack to change it, but don't recall where it is. I've always found the standard once a week is fine as long as the motherboard battery is O.K.

HERE are some customisations you can do, although I don't think it's worth the bother.
