I am attempting to istall a new HP printer and it says the Windows Cryptographic service must be running. When I attempt to start the service I get the error "Could not start the Windows Cryptographic service on local computer. Error 998: Invalid access to memory location". I rebooted the system but still get the same error. Any ideas on what to try next?

What is the operating system? Is it 64 bit?

I would check the event logs for further information. Post back with the error ID number, source, and exact error description.
