Windows Defender

I need help uninstalling Windows Defender from my computer.

I no longer have the "WindowsDefender.msi" and the uninstall app is asking for it. I downloaded the ver. from the website but that doesn't work.

About Screen:
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1186.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1350.3


It won't let me update sig files, the update won't install.

Can you reinstall the original installation and then uninstall?

 

I was able to find a installer of the same ver but it still says it's not the correct one, and i can't repair, install, or uninstall any ver.

 

Manually delete it.

If it won't let you, do so in Safe Mode, or use something like UnLocker.

Even better, try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1. Remove the current signature file. To do this, click Start, click Run, type ( or copy and paste)

Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

, and then click OK, it will ask you if you wish to un-install, say yes as it only uninstalls the update engine.

2. Open Windows Defender.

3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and then click Check for Updates.

and it should update
