windows explorer acting up

    Hi there

    Windows explorer is being funny on my PC. Which ever window I right click onto will freeze until I force close it and quite often I need to log out to solve the freezing. Is there a way to reinstall Windows Explorer without reinstalling the whole OS?

    Explorer in itself is likely not to be the issue.

    Check and see if it happens in Safe Mode.

    Get your Windows disk
    (Operating system cd if it is a dell)
    start>run>typein
    cmd
    at the command prompt in the black box which opens typein
    sfc /scannow (note the double n)

    insert your CD if required.
