Windows Explorer.exe

My desktop and taskbar are gone, only the wallpaper is there, after reading several post on the web ,I found out the problem is with windows explorer.exe, I can open the task manager with alt, control, delete. and have tried to open explorer exe, but it only blinks and its gone again, how can I restore it. Also i would like to get rid of the logon and password screen I would like to go to the screen with just my name and my sons and we can click on the name and go to windows from there, can you tell me how to do this, I did uncheck the box where it says you need a password to get onto the computer, but the logon is still there with administrator in user asking for password. thank you in advance.

 

Boot to Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Log in as administrator and enter your password (may be blank).

If the displayed prompt is not C:\> the type CD .. press the enter key. Do this as many times as necessary until your command prompt is C:\>

At the command prompt type the following:

rename C:\Windows\explorer.exe explorer.bad press enter (If the file is nolonger there goto the next command)

expand C:\I386\EXPLORER.EX_ C:\Windows press enter (This is assuming you have an I386 folder on your computer)

You will have to run windows update after you do this.
