    Hi radar747,

    Try using Windows 3.1 file manager (winfile.exe).

    On the problem pc, launch your web browser and download the attached file (winfile.log) onto the desktop.
    rename the winfile.log file to winfile.exe.

    *File Manager will recognize external drives but they must be plugged in first before executing winfile.exe.

    Execute winfile.exe and select the Ignore option to the 16 Bit Subsystem message.

    I tried it on Vista and it works.

    Past my 10 min edit time-

    If you can't save the download thru IE, download onto another pc and rename there. You can then copy the winfile.exe into the root of a memory stick. Next, instead of having explorer on the problem pc trying to read the stick, add this autorun file to the root of the memory stick. This approach will auto launch winfile.exe when the stick is inserted into the usb port.

    Copy everything between the lines below into notepad.

    ------------------------------

    [AutoRun]
    OPEN=winfile.exe

    -----------------------------

    save the file into the root of the memory stick as autorun.inf.

    connect the stick to the problem pc.
