Windows Explorer Search annoyance

Recently whenever I click to open a Folder,for some unknown reason,instead of the Folder opening I get the annoying/ time wasting "Search" window! can someone provide information,on how to fix this? Thanks.

BTW:This problem seemed to have occured after I installed IE8 or Win XP Pro on a separate HD!

Microsoft acknowledges that this is a problem in Knowledge Base article #321379 and offers the following fix:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Locate and then click the Default value under the following keys in the registry if this problem occurs with folders:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
If this problem occurs with drives:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
3. Click Modify on the Edit menu.
4. Type none in the Value data box, and then click OK.
5. Quit Registry Editor.

Let me know if this doest fix it as ther is another way of doing this, but i cant find it right now

Your above fix did the trick for me.This problem was kinda getting on my nerves after a while.Now,when I click a Folder it opens with Explore,and Open immediately below,so can I assume that if I follow the above instructions,but adapted for the Explore thing,I can have it show Open at the very top?
