I Have 16GB of memory and right now im using 94% of it

IM currently doing a chkdsk on a Hdd through a usb to sata cable this was infected
i scan it with this computer and removed afew trojans and when i connected the hdd back
to the laptop i got the blue screen of death so i reconnected it to my computer through
usb to sata cable again and the first thing it ask me was to scan the disk for errors
so thats what im doing right now and all of the sudden my memory usage spike up
and windows explorer seems to be the biggest hogger bu still were talking about 14.5 gbs
    of usage

I would suspect that Norton/Symantec is involved here. Whatever it is, it's not writing much to the page file, just working in RAM.

I just did another chkdsk and watch chkdsk take all my memory in about 8 minutes.

after doing a quick google search i found out tha this is a problem with windows seven ckdsk tha it uses all the available memory it puts your computer to a crawll
it sucks first i had to leave windows backup for cobian backup because windows backup was extreamlly slow and now im going to have to leave windows chdsk because i cant used my computer when runing chdsk .becaused it takes all my memory

I remember all the hyperactivity over that 'bug' around the time it was 'discovered'. Basically, if you need to run chkdsk, it would be because there's some signs of possible corruption or data loss, therefore it should be a priority to do it and to do it fast.

Your backup should have been completed even before the possibly infected or corrupt external drive was even attached - again - priority, ensure your data is safe first.
