Windows Explorer

Hello ...

I know that maybe this question is stupid ... But I hate Windows explorer at the moment ... Right now it's using all of my processor speed ... Only some times but it's pissing me off ... So I was wondering if it was possible to remove windows explorer and install something else ...
Can anybody help me ???

Which OS do you have?Do you want to use a file manager to browse your way to your folders or do you want to remove the taskbar and the start button and everything that explorer controls.If you just want a new file manager try these (works with xp)

If you are using XP you can reduce the resources used by explorer
Right click my computer>properties>advanced>performence>setting>visual effects>adjust for best performence>ok.

 

Well thx ... But that wasn't excatly what I meant ...
I do have total commander, so that my file explorer ...
And I allready set it to best performance ... The thing I mean it's like linux ... that you can dl a new kernel ... As you said remove it from everything that it controls ... I would have liked something that substitued explorer.exe ... Is it impossible ???
