Windows Fails to finnish booting!

Windows wont finnish booting! i cannot access the PC in anyways via windows booting. i would like to repair this install if possible without reformating again

Before the Problem:

i was playing Ceasar IV, the game had froze for about 30 secs and then flashed a blue screen and restarted the PC. Since this happened the PC will not finnish booting. I have had this game for several months and no issues with it before.

Current Problem:

I press the power button the PC completes the POST and begins to start windows, the windows loading screen apears for around 5 seconds and the a very fast flash of a blue screen apears and the PC restarts and then it says the PC did not shut down properly and what do i wish to do.... i have tryed all safe mode types (with networking ect) but everytime i get the above problem.

More Info: I was unable to record the error number on the blue screen as it flashed too fast(around 0.5 secs tops) and the same for the current blue screen i recieve while attempting to boot.

I have left the PC disconnected from the power for over half an hour but still no change in symptoms.

i have formated my PC around 2 weeks ago to a fresh install and updated drivers ect but it has been used alot since with no problems what so ever while on the internet and gaming using COD4 and ceasar IV.

PC spec is:

AMD athlon XP 2400+
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard
Gainward Bliss 7800GT PCX Golden Sample edition
Corsair 1 Gig matched pair pc3200
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard

This system is a known good config as i have had it for over 20 months and works very well.

 

well since ive had no reply yet i have decided to just format it. so problem solved

 

Patience, my friend. Too late now. We probably could have fixed the problem though....

 

i fixed it myself anyways, a chkdsk in recovery console reported an error and a fixboot allowed my PC to start.

sorry for being in patient but its the weekend and i work away from home all week and need the PC
