Windows freezes when online

I have had an off and on freezing problem with my computer for several months now and I can't seem to fix the problem completely.

Heres my setup:
AMD X2 6000+ (with a $70 Zalman cooler)
ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition
NVIDIA BFG 8800GT OC
Maxtor 300GB IDE drive (shares IDE port with DVD drive)
Seagate 500GB SATA drive for Pro Tools LE sessions
Seagate 500GB SATA drive for BFD2 drums audio
Thermaltake Toughpower 700W
2GB OCZ Platinum RAM
1GB Kingston


When this all started, I had a dual boot with XP and Vista Ultimate on two different partitions on the same drive. My pictures would often freeze when looking through them on both operating systems. I then deleted the Vista partition and reinstalled XP.

This fixed the problem until now. While surfing the net, on IE or Firefox, Windows will freeze completely. It always happens when there are multiple tabs open and I try to scroll down a page while it, or the other tab is still loading. Sometimes just moving the mouse while a page is loading will make the computer freeze. It also freezes occasionally when there aren't any programs running at all. The HD light will sometimes be glowing when the computer freezes.

Im on dial up with an external modem but Im not sure if that could cause any problems (It never has before). I have spent the past few weekends downloading any Windows updates that I have missed. I have updated my modem driver recently and the only other driver that I know I need to download is my graphics driver. The file is over 60MB so Im not going to download it unless you guys think it could potentially fix my problem.
