Hi all, I am having a little problem with the Windows game advisor now, whereas it used to run fine. I am using a MC 2005 pc with IE6 and all updates. The newest version of the advisor uses Futuremark measurement software 3.11. When I run the advisor, it stops at 60%. At that point, the only thing I can do is shut down the pc by pressing and holding the power button. I try to close the IE window using the task manager, but it does not close. I can still use some programs, but not IE until the computer has been restarted(so as to close the game advisor window). I have cleared all cookies and temp files, uninstalled and delete the futuremark software and reinstalled using the active x plugin that advisor prompts. I have run a full scan of the pc for viruses and have run pc doctor to see if it finds any hardware problems, all turning up negative. Even run disk defrag thinking it might be a hard disk problem to no avail.

I don't know what the problem may be and was hoping that there might be a way to track down the program causing the problem to try and fix this, does anyone have any idea? Really hoping that this is not indicative of a hardware problem on my pc.

Nevermind, I have found the problem. It seems that the game advisor has a problem scanning my sony dvd writer as the advisor does not lock up when the writer is not connected.
