    I have used up my REARM quota for Windows 7 Genuine errors.
    What can I do to make these notices stop?

    The activation option has been removed.
    I can not activate online because I have no product key registered in my system.
    I have no physical sticker or key cert.
    I have tried every trick to remove the notices.
    I have a legal copy that is OEM stock with my Lenovo Twist. Is contacting Lenovo/IBM for a product key an option?

    thank you for any help.

    I had not come across that one- good little tool- just tested it- O.K
    OEM STOCK- WILL NOT USUALLY BE ACCEPTED ON A FRESH INSTALL - BUT FROM FACTORY RECOVERY WOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED-
    If you used Eldon's recommendation to collect all other registration numbers, and then did a factory recovery you should be O.K WITH WINDOWS 8.
    If the laptop came with Windows 7, then it should revert to factory with Windows 7
    You may need a recovery disc /usb from LENOVA, if the recovery partition is damaged. From what I can see the recovery drive is on a separate hard drive, if this following link is correct

    Glad to have helped- assuming you have solved it, it would be appreciated by all, if you come back to tell us which way worked for you, as it would also help anyone else with a similar problem.
    I would like to think the LENOVA download recovery would be the one.

    I want to avoid running a recovery process BECAUSE I have no other problems with my system and this pesky Windows Genuine pop up is not limiting my functionality.

    But I am almost to that point. Here is where I am at right now......

    There are many SLMGR.vbs commands that can be tried before running recovery but they are "not being recognized as an internal or external command"

    My main concern is that I have nearly 10 copies of CMD.exe and about 30 similar files such as .exe.mui and cmdL32.exe in my system folder. I run CMD as admin but still get command replies of "not being recognized ....."

    Should there be less copies of the cmd.exe file in my system folder and if so, how do I resolve this without running recovery?

    Is it possible that I have 32 and 64bit over lap somehow because I notice my system file folder is System32 but the "Computer" properties details list my OS as 64bit?

    - I have already completed all the Malware steps and programs.
    - I have uninstalled update KB971033
    - I have tried about 5 more things listed on this feed: http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Windows-Genuine-Advantage-Notifications
    - I have removed my product key using SLMGR.vbs /upk BUT when I try to reset it using SLMGR.vbs /ipk I get the "command not recognized as ......." error again
    - I have reset my registry VALUE DATA to 1

    Just ran the Lenovo recovery and it updated my bios and repaired what it thought needed repaired but it still did not find the problem with my CMD. Rearm command is still not working after I have completed all the tasks that everyone else lists but they are not successful for me...... yet....

    Any other ideas? It is looking like I am stuck with this genuine error pop up until I have the patience and time to just communicate directly with Microsoft.

    That is a useful link from Eldon
    Should all else fail
    I have not tried this, but as you don't want to re-install, so it might be risky.......... A chap called Adrian wrote this on Digital life - --or, Perhaps you could get another hard drive and use the Lenova recovery on that, then try to find the keys of any program you need , and anything else you want to reinstall on that hard drive .
    1. Type in the "Search Box" > regedit and then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windo wsNT\CurrentVersion\ SL or instead "SL", search for "SoftwareProtectionPlatform";
    2. In the right panel change "SkipRearm" value to "1";
    3. From now on will be able to use “slmgr -rearm” for another 8(eight) times. So you'll have a total of 360 days for using Windows 7 without activating it.
    We have to be careful not to circumvent Microsoft licence requirements, so this is only a possible way to help you , and give you a chance to at least try to fix yours assuming it is genuine.
