    Laptop:
    Lenovo x100e
    Windows: 7Professional

    Here is my problem:
I was having issues with wifi constantly disconnecting and the ethernet driver dissapearing, so i insatalled new drivers and it seemed to work only for the issue to come back. I ran the lenovo think vantage updater and it picked up some other updates one of them being another wifi driver and a newer bios.

Me being sort of lazy at the time i decided to just install both , rather than installing the wifi driver first seeing if that fixed the issue and if not to install newer bios. Well i installed a newer bios and more recent wifi driver that the lenovo servers picked up.

Result: Issue with my wifi and ethernet drivers dissapearing resolved , the bios succesfully updated and i had no issues ( orso i thought). Since the bios updated i restarted and shut off and restarted the laptop about 3-4 times and it appeared no issue was present.

However the next morning when i turned on the laptop it wouldn't boot to windows , it would load the '' windows loading'' splash then it would check VERY quick blue screen ( impossible to see what was written because i only get a 1 second glimpse) and keep re-starting doing the same time.

When it restarts it gave me 2 options: fix windows problem OR start windows normally ( i ended choosing both ( the later after the first did not work)

When i tried to fix windows it only gave me options to go back to a restore point so i picked all 7 options i had BEFORE i updated the bios and to my disappointment not a single one of them worked. So later i tried to start windows normally ... that too did not work.

I tried to access safe mode in all options and that would would get a 1 second quick blue screen and then restart.

Well before i updated bios and began installing new drivers i made a back up of my operating system and clone it into a spare drive, so after all these issues presented i deleted the drive and cloned the spare operating system once again to the empty drive. Upon the system trying to start again same issue presented itself .

I figured maybe my hard drive or memory possibly went bad, tested both and they work and test good tried other ram and hard drive in laptop same issue. My only conclusion is that somehow windows is having issues now with the new bios update.

How can i revert back to the old BIOS? The manufacturer only has the most recent bios on their website

Is there perhaps another issue that i may be missing?

Try selecting Default Settings in the BIOS.

    Nexus...

At the bottom of this page are a number of BIOS update utility versions. If you download the one that updates to the version you had previously, maybe you can get it to flash the BIOS back to where it was:

This page is for a bootable version of the update utility. Maybe it's worth a try...

Well i tried making a bootable cd from the iso but it doesn't seem to work , i used a program burnawarefree to burn the iso into a cd-r disc ( file was only 6 mb or less).

It boots into a dos screen and then gets stuck and screen goes black so i can't initialize the bios through cd. Unless burnawarefree make a bad bootable cd but i tried another and it did the same thing. Alternatively i tried making a bootable usb drive with power iso but the computer won't read it. Rufus couldn't couldn't make a bootable usb out of the bios iso.

At startup, press F8 after the BIOS splash screen to see advanced options. Select "Disable Automatic Restart After System Failure", and let's see if we can get an error code.

per altbos post i was able to fix the bios thanks for the suggestions and replies

Something i never liked about this laptop is the wifi card it isn't the best, for example i like using linux sometimes and with this laptop it never automatically detects the wifi drivers. Even windows has issues sometimes ,but this laptop isn't like other brands where you can simply pop in any random wifi card..

Nexus...glad to hear you got that worked out. Curious how you got the CD to work if you get a chance to explain. Thought hopes were dashed there for awhile...

the cd issue was solved by using a different bios i tried one of the 2nd to oldest one and it seemed to work fine. I used Nero 7 to burn it

Personally i never really went backwards after a bios update.. that is without an issue. This time it seemed like it fixed my issue but the wifi got is kind of worse.

I have to fn hotkey the radios on and off for it to work properly and its becoming a pain. The worst part is lenovo doesn't allow me to freely choose my wifi cards... they have this whitelist hardwired into the bios so i am limited.

I wanted to get a wifi/bluetooth combo but it seems i can't at least not without cutting some pins first

Kind of reminds me of why i stopped using dell desktops, they use proprietary power supply's and most of their motherboard have special connectors that only works with what they sell or give you. I despise these moves from company's but i understand them from a financial point stand

You might be able to hack the Inf file of the WiFi driver to enable the install, had to do that way back to install a card in Latitude/Inspiron to enable a card whitelisted for Precision only to work.

    I HATE white lists.

HP is infamous for them. Want a new WiFi card? Perhaps with Bluetooth? Well, there's only six (or less) on the planet you can officially use.

Other option is to unpack, and hack the BIOS. Which is fairly advanced...
