Just a little while ago while online a window popped up that said this.

Windows has detected an IP address conflict

Hope I'm posting this at the right place.

Another computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer. Contact your network administrator for help resolving this issue, More details are available in the Windows System event log.

I have no network, just this computer.

I looked in the event log but I do not know what I'm looking at, I did find this & not sure its connected to this.

    "
The system detected an address conflict for IP address 10.165.204.157 with the system having network hardware address 00-A)-C6-00-01. Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.

    Have you tried restarting Windows?

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I have, & I have not gotten the warning window again.

That's the first time I've seen such a window saying that, I've had my computer for about 2 to 3 years yet recently I had to reformat it.

My 1st thought was someone spying on me from the internet, but it hit me it was saying network & I had not network.

The only problem I've had since reformatting my computer was afterwards I could not access any files in my external hard-drive. And this window popped up after I finally was able to change things so I could access everything on my eternal hard-drive. I do not know if changing the permission has anything to do with this warning window or not, yet I thought I would at least mention it.

    Thank you,
    Jerry

I tried to edit my last post to add this, but they have a time limit!

Just now when I got online the Window came up once again. So far it only does this when I get online. I have internet service from Verizon, a USB modem. This is the 2nd time.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

On what kind of network are you? I see that you have a private IP address starting with 10; usually these kind of addresses are used on corporate networks.

I have no network, only one computer in my house.

I read some post made on a Microsoft support forum & one person said its caused by Verizon Wireless 4G LTE USB Modem 551L & or the Access manger. There were several over there having this problem. Its here, Microsoft Support forum.

I'm a bit leery to try any of their helps.

I've had this USB modem for over 2 years & this is the 1st time its happened to me. They had an update recently & it started this after the update.

I ran the Windows Network Diagnostics, it found nothing

    Thanks!
