windows i need help please

whilst running pc bug doctor on my other pc it froze so i rebooted and windows seemed to be loading up but when windows reached the main page all my icons had disappeared as with my start bar has also disappeared but my background is still showing and i then get an error saying explorer has caused an error and must now shut down, and i cannot access anything on windows. Apart from re-installing windows i have no idea of what to do as i dont have a windows setup disk i dont know what to do. can any1 help please. i was running windows 98se on that pc.

 

Do you have the Win98SE CD? If so, then extract the Explorer.exe file from WIN98_45.CAB onto a floppy. Next, since you don't appear to have a Win98SE boot disk, go to www.bootdisk.com & download an image. Make the disk & boot your computer with it. Go to the C:\Windows folder & delete the Explorer.exe file. Now replace it with the one from the floppy. Reboot & see if it helps.

 

Can you boot in safemode ? (If so try to scan your machine for spy-/ad-/mal-ware and virus)
