Windows Installer has taken over

This started in the spyware forum you can check the beginning post http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=39754.

Quick rundown: was unable to do much of anything do to installer popping up and taking over CPU. I have know got to the point that installer no longer pops up, but I'm unable to re-install and/or run money 2003.

Jasca I hope you find me over here. In answer to your questions in other forum. Yes there is a money file on C drive, but it shows empty. However I do have an older drive that I use primarily for storage. It does have some older programs on it including money 2003. Is it time to nuke this hard drive? I would have done it sooner but don't know how to erase or re-partition. I've never had any problems until now. I will hold of on quicken for now. Any additional help is greatly appriciated...thanks
