Windows Installer Help

Hello,
I have been trying to tackle a issue on my comp with the program Windows Installer. I cannot access nor run any .exe files and this has been a onoing problem as I cannot download and run any upgrades for my puter nor even upgrade the installer. The most common error I get is .....

error creaing process <c:\docume~1\admin~1\locals~1\temp\ixp000.tmp\msinst.exe/i instmsi MSIEXECREG=1/M/qb+!>
reason: the system cannot find the file specified

I'am running window 2000 proffessional and have searched extensively for any answers and nothing lol. Of course my puter came with windows allready installed and I have no windows cd.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can download: get CCleaner or Zappit! or similar hard drive cleaner and run with default settings to clean out your junk files. Then visit this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
and download/run the utility. Then visit this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&DisplayLang=en
and download/run the util.... I think that will do it....

Is this a problem with you not having the latest MS installer. If so why not go and download it from Micro$osft.

I have dial-a-fix and trying that today we shall see, as far as downloading anything new the windows installer is corrupt so downloading of any new programs is redundant as I cannot install it. I have all the versions of winstaller downloaded but they also don't do any good I get the same error when tring to install anything new.
Looks as if I'am hosed lol.
