Ok i have screen shots of the promblem i am dealing with. of course ive been searching all over the net for weeks and cant solve this

i think it comes down to finding out what program is corrupt and keeps trying to repair/install. which i cant do

i seen one fix that has something to do with event viewer, but when i followed the steps i didnt have the same options as they did so im assuming they were using a different version of windows.

i am running windows xp home edition version 2002 service pack 3

here are some screen shots of the problem

this is the box that keeps popping up the most. its right at start up and at random times, also during certain functions like saving files, opening folders, and running programs

here is a typical look at the problem from the event viewer perspective

and this is an actual look at an application error

ive looked in the registry to find what program that GUID is coming from. for some reason its not in the registry smh. when it all originally started it was asking for roxio media manager software which came with my blackberry but i unistalled it after i got an HTC. after using windows fix it and windows install clean up this is what im left with. the current state isnt as bad as when it was asking for a roxio CD. but it still makes my pc lag, sometimes for nearly a minute!! smh

if its any help, sometimes i see the windows installer icon on the task bar http://i1.imageban.ru/out/2011/11/25/18164f441380d3b2be9f23dca3370a0b.jpg, but sometimes i see the installshield logo too http://mallow.wakcdn.com/avatars/000/152/524/normal.png. i tried to get a screen shot of this but it pops up like 4 or 5 times really fast then the rest of the lagging is either in the background or you just see the 'preparing to install" box posted in the first pic of this post.

im stumped, im asking for help here before i reinstall windows completely. just right clicking and saving a simple pic from the internet takes like 2 minutes. with all the thing i do on my pc, i cant have it hanging for a minute or two randomly PLUS when i perform certain actions, that time adds up faster than you would think. please help

http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459 This program has helped me to remove installers that were left behind after an uninstall and would run at random times, especially at system start, Kodak software comes to mind, among others....

maybe you missed that part but i already ran this and got rid of some roxio stuff and some other things that i knew werent supposed to be there.

this msicuuu probably will work but i have no idea which program to delete with it

when i run it, everything that appears is a recognized program

What processes are running when you open Task manager? Maybe from there. you can figure out what program tries to either install or repair.

    How to uninstall InstallShield - ISUSPM.exe ?

Isuspm.exe is a program which may have been installed by you when you installed other software programs. This is a program which is from a company called Macrovision. The purpose of this program is to check for the latest updates from Macrovision products. This file is considered safe and is not considered spyware, adware, or virus related.

To remove this program, it cannot be removed by using simple Add/Remove Program and there is no uninstall MSI for you to do that.

To uninstall this program, you need to download the upload manager uninstaller here http://support.installshield.com/kb/files/Q112918/SoftwareManagerUninstall.exe

Save it on your desktop and double click to launch it. Then, you will see the following screen.

Follow the instructions on the uninstaller to completely remove InstallShield.

You can check in Control Panel to verify the removal. You will notice the Program Update icon had already disappeared.

ok everything seems ok for right now. i think really at this point some program that was installed with installshield, not windows installer, has become corrupt. installshield comes from macrovision so it could be an adobe product such as flash, which was originated by macrovision

    but to recap

go to start/run and type msconfig
when the msconfig window opens, click the "start up" tab
uncheck all boxes, click apply, then close, then click restart
if the problem goes away then you know its one of the check boxes that you just unchecked
    go back to msconfig
check a few boxes and then click apply, close, and then restart again, if the problem doesnt come back then you have narrowed your search. leave those boxes checked because they arent the problem. continue to narrow your search by repeating this process until you find which check box activates the program that causes the problem.
once you find out what program it is. remove it accordingly. if you dont know how to remove it, a google search asking "how to remove [insert program name here]" should bring up some results that can guide you thru it

ill post back to let everyone know how my pc is running
