Windows installer problems

Hi I recently installed a chess game from a ISO file called deepfritz 10 then after realizing it was too slow on my pc since I have windows 2k and my video card cannot handle the graphics my friend says he deleted it with add/remove progs. Ok... then I installed a lower version deep Fritz grand master instead which works fine. Now, however when I check my spywearblaster for updates I get this messege from windows installer saying cannot find the product Fritz 10 and that its on a network that is unavailable, and to browse for the location for Fritz 10. Fritz 10 is not on my pc anymore. After this happens a few times it says spywareblaster has generrated errors and will need to be restarted or something. Another friend told me I need to install Frtiz 10 then uninstall it again to get rid of this messege. Does this make sense to you. Can you help me with this? Also could it be some kind of malware on my pc?
New to this stuff and just thought I would ask. I ran scans for spyware and virus and they all show no threat found.
