Windows Installer Xp Home

I have a problem with my windows installer. Whenever I try to install norton anti-virus the set-up unexpecticly quits before I can intall it. This also happened whiile i tried to install Avg virus protection.

So I want to know if anyone know how to fix this. Or is there any way to reinstall win installer for Xp Home. On microsoft it says I cant install it.

Also, I tried installing in a safe boot, but the same problem.

Nope, The set-up wizard just disapears as if I had click close.

 

try running the windows installer cleanup util

Norton didn't show up on the list. Am I supposed to uninstall somethign else?

 

no, if it didn't show up on the list then it probably didn't get that far. Ok, so now I have to say that it's something to do with the windows installer. Have to look something up.

 

Now I think this may be the bloodhound.packed virus. I scanned my pc with norton online scan fining 3 instances of this.
