Windows is having memory problems even though it has plenty of memory I've already tried settiung to memory for page file so the system manages it but no luck there any other suggestions. I really hate windows these days it just seems to have one problem after another i never had half the isuues with xp that i did with this new version. It only seems to have this memory error at night though oddly enough. So if anyone does make a suggestion i won't know if it had an effect until tonight. Using windows 10 has been a pain and a half

You need to provide more info regarding the issue.

Like what the fact that my memory usage on task manager never goes above 56%? Cuz thats about all i know myself

That's a good thing. Still don't know what your problem is.

Well unless you tell me how to get more info you know as much as i do right now I mean i do find it weird that it happens sometime after i go to sleep at night.

You could try explaining that statement.

I found one person who resolved the issue by doing a system restore.

What i'm doing at the time is no different than what i do during the day yet for whatever reason it only happens during the night for some odd reason and the one time i was up when it happened my memory usage was no higher than 56%. And i immediately checked it the moment i saw the error.. I honestly do not feel like doing a system restore as that seems like a quick fix i wanna fix the issue i a way that it won't happen again plus i've being doing some stuff i don't want to end up losing data on. Just some important documents and stuff.

Does the message indicate what program is being compromised due to low memory? What is your virtual memory set at?

it just says low memory nothing about any specific program though whenever i see it i notice that several browser tabs have crashed

Wouldn't kknow how to check virtual memory in windows 10 i don't think virtually memory is even used in newer computer os

If that has something to do with paging file i set that to system managed per another user stating that it fix the low memory problem but i still get the issue anyways.

The problem was similar to mine. That user also had memory that was not bieng used though his was only about 30% to my 50% avg.

the thing is it hasn't been a problem before now and now all of a sudden it just keeps happening i'll try this but if it doesn't work something else is to blame i won't know this until tomorrow though since it only has that stupid error at night.

Think I am beginning to become somewhat of an expert on this one. When you go to sleep, do you leave the PC on? If you do, an active page in the browser may be running a video. I have had this exact same scenario occur many times, including with video running in an ad window on a web page.

I do alot of testing, and much of it has to do with running video for odds on hours in a row. Video eventually rips through the RAM memory (and virtual memory/paged memory) on a system. On an 8 GB system it takes me about 8 days of constant video (yep non-stop and I tested it many times) to beat the Windows memory controller into oblivion and get the "Not enough memory message."

FYI, in my experience the best for page file size is 1x the amount of RAM on the system for the low number and 1.5x the amount of RAM on the system. However, faster processors/hard drives can handle more paging operations, meaning you can go higher. From what I can tell that will only put off the inevitable with "RAM creep". Without at least logging off and then back on before the system crash freezes, RAM usage will grow over days of a single boot...

i use ad blockers on all my browsers so a video isn't the cause and if it take 8 days for it to happen onan 8 gig ram well that isn't the experience i'm having it doesn't seem to matter whther or not a restart although last night it didn't give the low memory warning however tonight i just got it again.. Prior to this i could run the computer nonstop and not run into this issue over 16 days and to even a month and never ran into this issue. I may end up needing to take it to the shop if this keeps up Or have some techies take a look at it over the internet.

Have you looked at what is using the RAM in Task Manager? Click on view and then select columns and then select all the memory related items. Then click on the header for working set. Take a look at the commit size too. I have noticed that security programs can chew up memory.

Usually, the browser is what seems to drive up memory usage the fastest for me, so that's something to look at. Firefox Quantum really uses alot during heavy loads such as 20 tabs and streaming video in one tab.

    Some questions to look at:
How much RAM do you have on the system?
How much RAM is being used when the PC starts up?
What is the RAM amount reading in Task Manager when you get the warning?
Do you get the warning when coming out of sleep mode?
How much RAM is being used according to Task Manager when the warning appears?

On this particular system I am on, Qihoo and Zemana PRO use alot of RAM, and those increase over time. I have also seen programs completely blow through memory in hours. HWiNFO has a gadget that monitors disk writes. It shows them on a graph but, apparently, loads them into RAM memory as it goes without ever removing any (classic memory leak).

I have found this difficult to troubleshoot, and I have thought I had it resolved a few times. For example, for a few days I thought using the new Firefox instead of Chrome was going to solve the problem, but then it started to happen again. I ended up making it a project to try to get to the bottom of the issue. That's why I have tested like I have.

well all i lnow is that it happens at or around 50% memory usage as far as task manager is concerend and then windows decides to close out several programs. Also it seems like increasing virtual memory only temporarily fixed the problem windows is now closing out programs and causing [problems again due to low memory i'm sick of this problem already it causes more issues. It's probably this broken os microsoft released win 10 has caused nothing but problems since i upgraded and quite frankly i bel9ieve this is one of them. It's most likely windows incorrectly assuming it has less memory than it actually has.

I seriously wanna beat up the guy who designed this os i really do. Cause this os is the only os i've ever had problems with all other iterations of windows didn't give me any trouble.

Oh and i havbe 16 gig ram. Also i believe windows is reading a high ram usage than it is actualy using. Ram usage is about 8.9 but the highest memory users are about 50 mb each and there only two of them everything else drop off signifiacntly.

The numbers don't quite make sense as far as ram the use % is too high for the fhe numbers i'm looking at. This is just an initial look at everything that's using memory but from my perspective it seems as though it's registering a higher ram use as far as memory than is actually there unless i'm not seeing some bg programs.

So i was right the ram usage doesn't add up the memory usage doesn't come cose enough to 8000 mb before the numbers drop off too much to really make much of a difference. So unless windows is hiding some memory intensive programs from task manager there shouldn't this much memory being used.

Just to be aware the memory used is about 3000 mb range before i stopped as at that point i had gotten to programs using 1 mb at that point This is however what i was getting while adding them up in the calculator and ignoring anything below 1 mb including decimals.

Still seems to point to a pagefile problem.

    http://www.itprotoday.com/windows-10/how-solve-windows-10-low-memory-errors

The common cause of this problem is setting the pagefile size to small and the solution is to increase the size of the pagefile or simply leave the pagefile size as system managed. If you do experience system low messages an event log will also be written identifying the three processes using the most memory. This event is IS 2004 in the System log.

If it's your virtual memory is low, you need to find out your ram and then use this equation ( 1024mb x your ram total ) then times that by 1.5 and enter that figure in the first box and then times that figure again by 2 and enter that amount in the bottom box and save it and restart your computer and you should be not getting any low memory warnings.

I noticed this too on W7 64. Actually went so far as to take screenshots and then use a program to grab the text from the pics so I could try to use the memory numbers to determine how MS comes up with the % number reported in Task Manager. Used a spreadsheet for the calculations. I had some success, but I had to use more than one memory column (View options) to get close to the Task Manager %. Unfortunately, don't recall the two columns I added together. It was a combination of the memory related columns (all of the memory ones set to show in Task Manager) added together.

If you choose "View" from the Task Manager menu bar, there are some memory columns you can enable. The only columns that matter for this are Memory-Working set, Memory-Private Working Set, and Memory-Commit Size. I believe the two columns I ended up adding together to get on the number in W7 64 were Memory-Private Working Set and Memory-Commit Size. Adding these two together seemed to get very close to the reported % in Task Manager for me. It might have been Memory-Working Set + Memory-Commit Size, but I just don't recall. Working set and private working set seem to be close anyway. You should be able to see by looking at the two columns together if anything is running away with RAM.

Strange that you are only going to %50 and yet still having this error. I can't think of a reason that would happen, unless as you say Windows is reading that you only have 8 GB. That seems far fetched to me, but hey it is Windows, so who knows. o_O

There is always sfc /scannow. Wouldn't hurt anything to run it and see if it finds any errors in Windows. Otherwise, this sounds to me like an app is crashing or a little bit like a security conflict or maybe some crazy problem with Recycle Bin or something. I haven't ever gotten the error when Task Manager was reporting less than like 98% of RAM being used.

One general concern (due to tab crashes) for me would be crypto-miner malware or other malware. crypto-miner masquerades as the browser in memory and uses resources to mine and transport Bitcoins over the internet. Lovely concept isn't it. Use someone else's computer to mine Bitcoins. Anyway, who knows what kind of behaviors could be associated with this, but I think Windows 10 is hardened against Eternal Blue/Double Pulsar, which is used with crypto miners. Nonetheless, if you have any security type extensions that you are not 100% sure about, you might want to get rid of them. There are a good many fakes that look surprisingly like the real thing. At least look them over, etc. Malware can cause strange things to happen for sure.

    It is already system managed.

Virtual memory is already set to 3 times the amount in gb of ram.
Non of the programs are using more memory theres also no option on the process tab to show any of what you just said.

Oh and btw memory usage is now hitting 63% and the programs i can see are using less than before.

In the menu bar, click View and then Select Columns...
Check Memory - Working Set and Memory - Peak Working Set.
    Click OK.

Yea i don't have that at all unfortunately there's no option for select columns for win 10 task manager or at least my win 10 i have no idea what is going on with this thing anymore.
