    Hi, everyone.
I downloaded 360amigo a couple of days ago and ran it. Today I ran it again. First I closed my WLM and MS Works Task Launcher. After amigo scanned and repaired the problems it found, I clicked the icon for WLM on my taskbar. I immediately the room for about 5 minutes. When I came back, the following error message was on my screen:

Windows Live Mail could not be started. Closing Windows Live Mail. Your calendar contains corrupted data that is forcing WLM to close. There was no error number.

I hit my start button to run winmail.exe. A message came back saying there was no such file.

Please help. I can't imagine what could possibly have happened to cause this problem in a matter of minutes. I thank you in advance for any advice.

BTW, I have my computer set up for 'classic' display. When I hit my start button, it opened up in a different format than usual.

    Elaine

the use of system optimizers can be risky at times, some don't distinguish legit programs or settings from good and proper software and personal preferences,i know since i used one with undesirable results ,did you try a system restore point to a date before you ran the 360 yet ? maybe that might resolve or return the programs to a previous setting when they were functioning.if you want any specific sotware to tune up your machine post back here for some suggestions and consensus for what you might want.

    Hi

I would agree with Pistol and do a system restore point back to the time you installed this app, as by default 360Amigo creates a restore point on install.

Its also been a known issue that some system cleaners can corrupt Windows Live Mail and other applications, but if your email address associated with WLM is a Hotmail, Live, MSN one then login online to that email service and see if your calendar is still working with correct data.

The main issue I have with 360amigo is that it doesnt automatically backup what you are deleting/fixing unlike the likes of some other apps, this is a bad ommision imho.

But you can try this HERE if System Restore doesnt help recover your WLM and Calendar, but do note that your calendar maybe too corrupted but its worth a try

Thank you, Pistol and David, for your very quick replies.

Turns out there was an error message # which I guess in my panic I overlooked: 0xE5E0408. I found info about it at WLM online. Their solution is to go to the calendar folder, find the folder named with your sign-in info and rename it. I did that and received a message that I was denied access to rename the folder. Sheesh.

So, I went to amigo, found the list of "restore points", chose one, closed my eyes, and did it! And it worked.

You all are such terrific "geeks" to spend so much time giving free help to so many people. I have worked with computers since 1978 at Bell Laboratories, starting with UNIX and RAMIS, so I am pretty comfortable and confident around computer software. But when something happens that I can't figure out on my own, I panick, I become frantic. So I can only imagine what many of the people who are neophytes who come to you and depend on you are going through.

So be assured that you are admired and appreciated. Thanks, Elaine :heart
