WIndows Live Mail sending message forever!

The biggest problem I'm having is that I sent a e-mail (with photo) over 3 hours ago. It is still sending unsuccessfully. No error message. When I try to open Windows Mail all I get is the smaller window showing that it is sending a message, with a bar that is at the halfway mark. I therefore cant see anything else like message list, any new mail, etc.
I tried going to the Windows Live Solution centre and couldn't find anything there related to my problem.
How can I make it stop so I can have my Mail program back :cry

 

ctrl - alt - del ??

 

Disconnect from the Internet and then see whether you can deleted that message containing the huge attachment.

handygal: Ctrl-Alt-Delete was no good because although it did close the mail program, when I would go back in to check my mail I'd get the same thing all over again.

usafveteran: The attachment was not huge- 216 kb.

On one of my attempts I finally got an error number, went into Windows Live Solutions and was finally able to find out how fix it.
