Windows Live Mail

Hi all.
I'm using Windows Live Mail as my default e-mail viewer/organiser.
When I click on a link in an e-mail it 'hijacks' a browser page I already have open and replaces that page with the page in the link.
Very annoying when I have several pages open, I have to remember to click the back button and not shut the page down.
Is there any way to make each link clicked open it's own page?

Depending on which browser you use, you may be able to configure the browser to open links in a new tab.
For Firefox / Pale Moon, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that should be able to handle that.
I do not have Windows Live Mail so can't test it directly.

 

That does not happen on my system. I use Waterfox as my default browser, and when I click on a link in a Windows Live Mail message, it will always open a new tab on Waterfox.

I'm using IE as my browser.
I'll take a look and see if there is a similar setting. If not I'll try a different browser.
I tried chrome but at the time you couldn't deactivate tabbed browsing(which I hate), so I binned it.

In IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Settings I found "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts (when tabbed browsing is turned off)"
I tried unchecking it and hey presto, job done.
