    Hello
I would appreciate a solution to my frustrating problem with message rules in Windows Live.

When I create a message rule from a specific contact I would like to move the message to a specific folder. However when I select the menu where I should be able to specify the folder. I cannot change the default folder from Outbox to a subfolder under the Inbox.
I would appreciate some assistance with the problem.

Attached is a screenshot of my problem for your reference,

    Thank you
    Joe

    Hi

Have a look at the note that's in the New Rule Window, its likely as you have IMAP or HTTP email as in Hotmail, you cannot create rules (been a while since I have used WLM), what version of WLM and Windows are you using and are they fully up to date?

I use Outlook 2013 these days, but Thunderbird is good as an alternative, BUT what I would check is online login to your Hotmail account and in settings the Gear icon > More Email Settings > Connect Devices and Apps with POP and check what the setting is.

Then try and see if WLM allows you to manually change to the POP settings HERE

Do make sure you have latest version of WLM installed.

    Thanks for your response.

I will look into Windows Live help again.

    Thanks
