Its hard to know where to begin -

Last week I transferred my whole boot drive to another drive, after that Norton and some other programs were screwed up, a lot malware and stuff got in, tried to clean and make norton work norton never got working before some bad sound and a complete windows crash. I had to do a compete install, now whenever I restart it freezes at windows loading bar, then I repair windows with my retail xp disc and everythings fine until I restart again, and it freezes up again, I thought it was malware so I did this "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support " post here and thought it fixed it because I could restart 3 or four times in a row but then it froze up on me again.

Here is what I have tried,
used alot of virus and spy stuff and cleaned everything,
    flashed bios,
completely reintalled windows and erased boot hardrive, not erased second drive twice
unplugging second hardive , and booting up
updated drivers such as sound card,
repaired windows more than 15 times

safe mode works fine both regular and with networking.

I have a custom computer with 2 sata hardrives. using a gigabyte mobo and san diego chip. System worked perfectly prior to the transfer of two old ide drives.

Bit confused. Bottom line is you eventually did a clean install, right? One possible problem is that without a firewall and anti-virus, you can become infected in 10 seconds to a couple minutes depending on who you ask. Its never happened to me, so I cant answer that. It is important that you remain disconnected until you install Windows and service pack 2.

Im not sure I am understanding otherwise why a fresh install wont boot, unless we have a hardware problem. If so, your best bet is to remove everything you can but the video card (extra hard drives, pull floppy cable, sound card, network card) then see if you can get it to work. Having a spare video card and ram is helpful here because if it fails, it could be one of those 2. Then add hardware back in until the problem is resolved at which point you have pinpointed the problem. Of course, a faulty motherboard is also possible, but this is basically how most techs diagnose a difficult problem.

so its probably a hardware problem since I did a clean install of windows, and cleaned up all malware on my spare drive, and even unplugged the spare and tried to boot the boot drive alone.

I have run drive tests that came out ok, so I dont think its the hard drive, plus I have never had a seagate go bad.

I have disabled the audio from cmos, and it still freezes. audio is in the mobo

run diagnostics test on everything I have from norton utility and everything comes up fine.

I have updated my bios from gigabyte website

Does being able to use safe mode with networking tell anything?

All hardware was working great until I trasferred my two ide drives to two sata drives.

Have not switched out the video card because I dont have another.

Could it be a software issue?

And a full windows repair why does it work great, then freeze up on the first or second restart?

I feel I am pretty good with computers but I cant find the answer here.

I use this computer for work as I am a designer so this is really hurting me.
