I was downloading the updates for SpyBot today and the whole thing froze on me. The program crashed and I had to close it. Later on, I restarted my computer and a screen came up asking me to click on the Windows account that I would like to log in to. However, there weren't any accounts shown... there was nothing to click on! It has NEVER before asked me to login to a specific account. It just automatically logs me into one.

Anyway, I had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete a couple of times and that brought up the username/password prompt. I typed in "Administrator" and it let me log in. However, this is NOT the account that it usually logs me into.

Whats going on? Has anyone seen this before?

    Thanks :)

While in under the admin account, you should be able to go to user accounts and see the account you would normally boot-up with. It was likely set-up when you originally loaded Windows. If you've forgotten the password for it, you should be able to change it while logged in to the admin account. Once you've done that, you should be able to log back in under that account, and find all your settings, etc as they were before.

Ok, but when I go to Control Panel -> User Accounts, I get an error message that says 'cells.item(...)' is null or not an object. I get that error whenever I try to see/access anything in User Accounts.

btw... I'm running Windows XP SP2. Also, I can still see the folders/files associated with the old account that windows used to automatically log me into here: C:\Documents and Settings

I've never seen that error before, and could only find one reference to your problem in google:

Someone having the same issue as you, but no answers. Unless someone here has a better suggestion, I think you'll have to do a repair install.
