windows login

My Windows login screen shows the amount of emails I have in my hotmail account. Why? And how do I get rid of this?

I'm thinking it's a messenger thing but I did not/do not have it running AND I disconnected from the internet and restarted and it still showed emails.

Another thing here is that once you've read the indicated mails, the message indicator on the login screen won't necessarily purge the message count immediately. On this pc it can take a day, sometimes two.

 

I beleive tweakui.exe, a Microsoft Powertoy also has an area to change that with a click. Program is easy to install and has quite a few useful tweaks.
